So today, after I finished filling out my application for work at XXXXX Inc., I was informed that the the background check was underway. In somewhere as little as seven and as many as a billion days, my background will be thoroughly investigated, to the point that they are insisting on seeing my high school diploma.
I have never been subject to this level of scrutiny. I may have forgotten things they might worry over a bit.
Snicker.
Well, after a long LONG time and plenty of waiting, it appears that things are finally in motion to get me hired on fo real yo. As a matter of fact, it’s real enough that I actually went and discussed the process with my HR friends and, since they are like spies, their acknowledgement of my hiring being in the offing makes me feel great.
It could be weeks or it could be days, depending upon whether or not legal says that we’re required to “post” my job. Then I’d have to interview for it (again), but that interview would probably consist of discussing sports and writing my name on the application.
I cannot tell you how thrilled I am at the prospect of normal (as in not totally wallet-emptying) insurance, as well as the other benefits that come with working at such a great place.
Oh, and on a pop-culture note or two, I have this.
Britney refusing to open the gate for her visiting time with the two childrens is hilarious. Seriously. It’s as if I just assume this story can’t get any better, and then it goes and gets even more absurd and hilarious.
I had another one, but it’s 5:30am and I’ve been up since about 3:45 and it brings my sleep total in the last week to about 24 hours or so. It is a miracle that I can type at all.
