Thing the oneth: The boy slept “thru” the night for the second night in a row. Wednesday it was from 10ish to 5:30am and last night it was from 9:30ish to almost 5am. That’s kickass.
Oh, and at his two month checkup yesterday (fwiw, he’s actually almost 11 weeks old but should only be six weeks old) he weighed in at a Butterball-ish 12 pounds 9 ounces. Is there a husky section at Baby Gap?
Thing the second actually happened this morning.
We have a routine at Casa de ReTodded. Every morning I’m up and downstairs and making my coffee or making juices for the kids or chatting with the wife or whatever else whilst in the kitchen. And every day 1doh tries to sneak down the stairs and infiltrate my perimeter in an effort to do me grave bodily harm.
Actually, she just sneaks downstairs and tries to scare me by shouting “BOO!” It never ever ever works.
Until today.
I was packing my laptop bag and getting ready to leave and was engrossed in conversation with GBD with my back to the dining room (tactical suicide I know) when 1doh apparently tiptoed in (unlike her normal 32 pound walking like a herd of elephants), shouted BOO and scared the ever-loving buhjeebus out of me.
Seriously. I literally jumped. Not high mind you. I am fat and white after all. But there was an effort by my heels to leave terra firma and latch on to the ceiling like a cat on Red Bull.
Once the shock wore off (for 1doh) when she realized that for the first time she had actually gotten me, the laughter that filled my kitchen from GBD and 1doh was priceless.
However, that means it’s time to break out the hockey mask and chainsaw at 2am…
